On January 25, 2026, Nantong, Jiangsu Province, witnessed a pivotal moment for China’s welding equipment industry: the successful conclusion of the Ninth Council Election Conference of the Welding Equipment Branch of the China Welding Association. A total of 101 industry professionals gathered to oversee the transition between outgoing and incoming council members, injecting strong momentum into the sector as it embarks on its “15th Five-Year Plan” period.
In accordance with the election procedures, 34 director units, 17 executive director units, 15 vice-chairman units, and 1 chairman unit were elected from among the 206 member organizations of the branch. Comrade Chen Jie was elected chairperson of the Ninth Council, and Comrade Li Xianzheng was reappointed as the full-time secretary-general. Behind this list lies the industry’s high recognition of each organization’s overall strength, its contributions to the sector, and its sense of responsibility—further underscoring the industry’s unified resolve and concerted efforts to drive collective development.
